What are Micro Link Hair Extensions?
Micro Link hair extensions also known as Micro Rings, Micro beads, or Locs are growing in popularity in both entertainment and fashion industry. This method does not use any heat, glue, chemicals, sewing, or tapes to apply so the risk of hair damage is very slim. Micro links are applied using a silicone bead that matches the hair extensions and is clamped in your hair using pliers. Unlike other methods, the micro links are adjustable so if your natural hair grows out or if the bead is slipping down it can easily be fixed. This method also saves you the money and the trip to get them removed. You can easily remove them yourself using pliers and pinching the bead in the other direction to loosen the bead for the hair extensions to slip off. There are 2 types of hair strands used for the micro links hair extensions. 1. Loop Hair Extensions, which has the micro bead already glued to the extensions with a plastic loop to make the installment easier. These hair strands are non reusable so if you are just getting extensions for just this time these strands are the way to go. 2. The Karatin I-tipped Extensions, which the tip is glued, shaped like a shoe lace. These extensions require a special tool to install and need to buy the bead separately but the hair strands are reusable so if you are planning to maintain in getting hair extensions these will save you money in the long run. Now lets talk about hair damage. The only damage you will experience with micro links are hair breakage. Hair breakage occurs when your natural hair is being pulled so when you are brushing, washing, and styling, your hair may break. When your natural hair breaks the hair is trapped with in the bead so you will not notice it while the extensions are in. You also shed an average of 50-100 hair daily so while having these extensions in, you will not notice it. The longer you keep your hair extensions in the more hair you will trap so when you remove your hair extensions you will experience many of your natural hair coming out with your extensions. This was not caused by the person who installed them, but because of daily shedding and the hair breakage that occurred while you had the extensions in your hair.
